After a very warm spring it turned into our wettest most sodden summer since arriving in devon 7 years ago but although it rained and rained the fish were in very obliging minds with terrific sport on all lakes. Highlights for us must have been the amazing silver sport, obviously pines being the jewell in the crown with many 100lb weights of skims tench and true crucians, tanners woody and Joes also provided many 80lb nets of the forgotten species.
While carp are still many peoples fav target tanners and woodys fish just keep getting larger on average 13 fish will suffice for our keep net rule of 65lbs in a net these animals now average 4.5lbs in tanners and 6lbs in woody several being weighed touching 15lbs.
Beatties has really benefited from the huge growth rates, we have moved almost 60 doubles across giving us almost 360 10lb plus fish, at the end of October we take delivery of our 1st 30lb fish also a female of 27lbs to keep him company, these pair are coming from my old mate Simmo at heather fisheries.
Josephs lake still the lodge residents very own special place apart from saturdays when pleasure fisherman can obtain a day ticket has been on fire these gorgeous carp have packed on the pounds now with an average of almost 8lbs - the dam wall being the spot to catch your 1st double on the pole almost guaranteed with huge nets to 300lbs.
The new hollywood lodge foundations are now in with the logs from nova scotia east coast of Canada being delivered at the end of november this lodge has proved to be really popular only a few weeks left in 08 and people even booking it for September 09 it must be the dream of relaxing in its own hot tub just yards from tanners great views.

We are replicating this successful format in November with a silverfish o maniac, the top angler fishing for quality roach and skimmers will become £2500 better off
